DRUCKEN

Therapy after Accidents

The five AUVA trauma centres - Vienna (located in Meidling and Brigittenau/Lorenz Böhler), Klagenfurt, Linz, Salzburg and Styria (located in Graz and Kalwang) - with a total of 918 beds (including 54 intensive care beds) are not limited to the treatment of occupational accidents. Most accidents today occur during leisure time and are managed by our trauma centres as well.

A highly qualified team of physicians, nursing personnel, medical technicians and administrators is responsible for the extensive management of trauma victims according to state of the art medical standards. Thus, survival and rehabilitation is made possible even for severely traumatised patients.

A total of around 2500 staff members care for our patients in the trauma centres and rehabilitation centres. With the help of the most modern medical facilities, their common goal is to enable trauma victims to return to their accustomed occupation as soon and with as little residual physical impairment as possible.

Our trauma centres are focused upon the surgical and conservative treatment of all injuries and the resulting impairments in adults and children.

Annually, over 300 000 patients, 40 000 of whom are in-patients, are treated in our trauma centres and rehabilitation centres.

Quality Management

The AUVA attributes particular importance to safeguarding quality in its medical facilities. Teams of skilled personnel from different fields cooperate to safeguard high-quality care by patient-oriented solutions.
